Management Team

Samira rao, co-founder

Samira heads product development and marketing at Paybooks. He is a Chartered Accountant with a diploma in Information Systems Audit with 15 years of experience in corporate advisory, payroll and taxation. He was an independent consultant prior to co-founding Paybooks.

Gururaja upendra, co-founder

Guru heads sales and operations at Paybooks. He is a Cost and Management Accountant with over 20 years of experience in business finance and operations. He worked at Mind Tree, Oracle, and Siemens prior to co-founding Paybooks.

NIMISH SANGHI

Nimish has an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and an Engineering degree from IIT Kanpur. Nimish brings in 22+ years of investment banking and business consulting experience.

RAVI AYYALARAJU

Ravi has an MBA from Northwestern University and an Engineering degree from Bangalore University. Ravi brings in 20+ years of experience in global ERP solutions and marketing.

MURU MANICKAM

Muru has a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from University of Madras. He brings in 18 years of experience in managing complex ERP projects.

Our journey that we’re proud of

EARLY 2012

Samira and Guru see business owners struggling with payroll and compliance on error prone spreadsheets. The idea of building a payroll solution gets seeded in a tender coconut water party.

JUNE 2012

Paybooks launches cloud based payroll software and payroll outsourcing services to provide worry free month ends to business owners.

JULY 2012

Paybooks gets its first customer!

APRIL 2013

India’s biggest e-commerce company signs up for Paybooks.

SEP 2013

Paybooks version 1.2 launched with improved UI and new features to automate benefits, time, and attendance.

AUG 2014

Intuit QuickBooks partners with Paybooks to offer comprehensive payroll platform in India.

NOV 2014

Intuit launches QuickBooks Payroll (powered by Paybooks) in India.

JULY 2015

Paybooks gets its 1,000th customer.

OCT 2015

Project “Reimagine Payroll” kick-started with a vision to make payroll simple and delightful.

JAN 2016

Paybooks 2.0 goes live with a new logo, mobile first employee self-service app, and enhanced product.

JAN 2017

Paybooks launches direct salary payment from Paybooks payroll software for the 1st time in India, in partnership with ICICI Bank.

AUG 2017

Paybooks enters into strategic alliance with Asia Pacific’s leading HCM solutions provider – CDP.

AUG 2019

Paybooks becomes Gold partner of Oracle and is now strategic payroll partner of Oracle for India.

SEP 2019

Paybooks becomes SDN partner of Netsuite.
